Changing Lives

I’ve been rather quiet. Whilst in the past, this could have meant a descent into doom, in this case it has been quite the opposite, and I have got my mojo back. Why is this? Well, I have been allowed out of my creative solitary confinement by my malfunctioning brain, and started to write again. Up until very recently, I was seriously considering giving up my Arts business and getting “A proper job”. Covid seemed to have destroyed by brain and my ability to earn money. However….I received a double boost…..a grant from the Theatre Artists fund, set up by the amazing Sir Sam Mendes. Not only did the money mean that we could keep going, but it was also a validation that we hadn’t been forgotten. I wrote to Sam to thank him, and told him what a huge difference it had made….and received a response….it included the words;

“Keep up the great work, my friend – you’re changing lives.”

I have a new hero. I shall treasure the words and the sentiment behind them. Seeing the faces of the young people when I was able to return yesterday was incredible.
