Mr Meek

Thoughts of the 80’s and some strange conversations with a strange man drifted back in the night…..

Mr Meek

Raymond was and always was a rather awkward man

His mother seemed to rule his life with fear

And on each day his greeting would be curt and impolite

He’d never join us for a lunchtime beer

His views could be unusual on subjects far and wide

He feared the “Homosexuals” more than most

He worried what it was he’d catch if they became too close

So wore his prejudice as quite the boast

I’m not sure what became of him, but willingly I’ll guess

A lonely end befell him I’m quite sure

To be quite terrified of anyone whose not like you

Makes me question what you thought your life was for
